Tornado Caught on Surveillance Camera

Wanatah, IN (CBS WIRE SERVICES) -- The storms that blew through much of the midwest this morning...packed quite a punch.

In some areas there were reports of funnel clouds. And in one small town in LaPorte County...the National Weather Service has
confirmed the damage was caused by an EF-1 tornado.

The tornado touched down in Wanatah, just east of Valparaiso, in LaPorte County.

And everyone there says it could have been much worse.

But there were a few buildings in that area that received some major damage. A pole barn was completely destroyed.

Workers at Hoosier Machinery Solutions say they took cover when they saw the tornado touch down. It then blew across the street and took off the roof, twists these power lines, and did other damage.

And it didn't stop there. Less than a mile away, another homeowner will be without part of their roof tonight.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
