A self contained camera or DVR camera has the digital recording device (DVR) built right in. No wires, no transmitters, no receivers, no interference. All you need to supply is power. There will be an SD card or other storage media hidden inside the hidden camera so you are able to playback recorded footage. Most of these products have built-in motion detection recording.

Self Contained Cameras

Units will automatically begin to record on motion. Some have built-in media and some have SD card storage. Most of these can operate on batteries or AC power. Playback recorded footage either on a TV, VCR or computer. Please read the product page carefully to understand exactly how each item works. Only some have a built in camera. You may need to purchase a camera in addition to the recording device. The self contained pen camera is USB connection only with permanent built in storage. Most of these have an adjustable recording rate.
