The emergency light itself is a normal full functioning device. The factory wiring for the emergency light portion is still 120/277 volts input. The factory included battery back-up is only for the emergency light and not for the camera. This hard wired emergency light hidden camera utilizes a high-quality 700 line resolution color CCD pinhole camera. The internal hidden pinhole camera is powered separately from the included 12 VDC power adapter.
The power and video wire for the camera come out the same hole in the back where the factory wiring for the emergency light come out.
This is a hard wired hidden camera. That means there is a cable coming out for the video signal. This cable must run all the way to your TV or DVR to be able to view or record video (click here for cabling options). If you don't want to use cables, then you want a DVR Hidden Camera that records to itself or a Wireless Hidden Camera that transmits the video wirelessly and doesn't have a video cable.
