This connect has a Female F connector on one side and a BNC male on the other.  This is most commonly used to utilize coax cable you already have from cable TV installations.  Most cable TV cables have male F connectors on each end.  You would put one of these connectors on each end of that cable to use that cable for normal security cameras.
