Jewelry Thief Caught on Security Cameras

With gold prices at long time highs, jewelry robbery is becoming more and more common. This story out today from Colorado.

Saturday morning, a man walked into the Fashion Pot on Santa Fe Drive in Pueblo, and ran out with a $4,300 gold necklace. The owner of the Fashion Pot, Terri Lee, is devastated.

"Me and my husband both have a hard time sleeping. As soon as I lay my head down, how about if I would have done it this way, if I would have done it that way," Terri Lee says.

But luckily, the store's surveillance camera caught the man on tape. You can see how the man puts on the necklace to see how it looks, then he runs off, Terri running after him.

"It happened so quickly and he ran off with it. And when I got to the parking lot, he had jumped into a car that was waiting for him and he was gone."

Police say the man escaped in a dark blue or Gray 4-door-sedan. Terri just hopes that someone recognizes the man who stole the most expensive necklace in her store.

"The chain is the tag price was $4,330 dollars," Lee says.

Police say the man was described as a Hispanic man in his 20's, with a heavy accent. He was wearing long dark colored shorts, a black and white plaid shirt.
