Some people never learn.  This story out today from Omaha, Ne.

Four people were arrested Saturday evening and one is still at large after a daytime burglary investigation led police to the alleged stolen merchandise.

A burglary was reported at 10:11 a.m. Friday on the 100 block of West Buhne Street in Eureka and items taken included personal property and credit cards. One of the credit cards was used at the Bayshore Mall Sears store, where three suspects were shown on security cameras.

The footage led to the arrest of Eureka residents Dustin Eugene Veatch, 18, and Angelique Sophia Omstead, 18, with Steven Lawrence Dorfman, 38, also allegedly on the security tape, still at large.

A search warrant was served by the Eureka Police Department at a residence in the 2200 block of Third Street in Eureka, where police seized property allegedly purchased with a stolen credit card, suspected crystal methamphetamine and items consistent with the sale of meth.

As a result of the search warrant, Mark Kelly Reed, 51, and Patricia Ann Reed, 49, both of Eureka, were taken into custody.

Veatch was charged with possession of stolen property, burglary, theft by access card and a warrant for parole violation. Omstead was charged with possession of stolen property, burglary, attempted theft by access card and an outstanding warrant. Mark and Kelly Reed were both charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sales, and maintaining a residence for the purpose of distribution of a controlled substance. Mark was also charged with possession of stolen property and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

All four suspects were booked into Humboldt County jail. Dorfman is still at large and wanted in connection with the investigation.

Anyone with information should contact Detective Sgt. Patrick O'Neill at 441-4300.

Had these stores not had security cameras, they could still be out on the loose.
