SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — Police have charged a man with breaking into a co-worker's suburban Syracuse home and setting up a spy camera disguised as an air freshener in her bedroom.
John Kirkpatrick of Syracuse is charged with burglary, stalking and unlawful surveillance.
Police say Kirkpatrick put the small camera under the woman's bed and pointed it at a full-length mirror. It was set to record whenever it detected motion and was capable of recording for hours.
The victim found the camera and called police. Police say the only thing it recorded was the 43-year-old Kirkpatrick installing it last Friday.
Bail was set Monday at $15,000. Kirkpatrick is due back in Cicero Town Court on Friday. Police don't know if he has a lawyer.
