Security Cameras Capture Carjacking Suspect

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Police are searching for the man who threatened a woman at knifepoint and stole her car Tuesday outside a store at Easton Town Center.

The carjacking was recorded by surveillance cameras in the area.

The cameras began following the man before he approached the woman in a parking lot near the Barnes & Noble bookstore, 10TV's Tino Ramos reported.

The man was walking on the sidewalk when he suddenly ran across the parking lot toward a silver car.

The woman inside said the man threatened her with a hunting knife and demanded money, Ramos reported.

The woman tried to get help by honking her horn, but the man forced her out of the vehicle and drove away.

She was not injured.

The car, which was a 2003 silver Toyota Avalon with Ohio license plate No. DPK-8110, has not been recovered.

Anyone with information about the man or the car's whereabouts was asked to call police.
