About 1.2 GHz Wireless Devices
All wireless transmitters transmitting between 960 MHz and 1.240 GHz are not legal to use in the United States.
Section
302(b) of the Act states that "no person shall manufacture, import, sell,
offer for sale, or ship devices or home electronic equipment and systems, or use
devices which fail to comply with regulations promulgated pursuant to this section".
Translation: All wireless devices must be certified
Section 2.803(a) states
that "no person shall sell or lease, or offer for sale or lease (inluding
advertising for sale or lease), import, ship, or distribute for the purpose of
selling or leasing or offering for sale or lease, any radio frequency device unless:
(1) In the case of a device subject to certification, such device has been authorized
by the Commission in accordance with the rules in this chapter and is properly
identified and labeled.
Translation: All wireless devices must be certified
and labeled as certified
According to Section 15.205(a) of the Rules, 47
CFR 15.205. Operation on 1.2Ghz is specifically restricted to aeronautical navigation.
Thus, wireless devices operating on 1.2GHz cannot comply with the FCC technical
standards and therefore cannot be certificated or marketed for use by the general
public or non-federal government entities.
Translation: 1.2Ghz devices cannot
be certified because the frequency is restricted. Therefore using 1.2Ghz devices
is ILLEGAL.
We know and understand there are many websites selling 1.2 ghz products. They will all eventually be caught, cited and possibly arrested or fined or both. Many companies have already been cited by the FCC and they continue to sell these wireless products. Those companies risk substantial fines and/or imprisonment. We on the other hand wish to comply completely for our own safety as well as the well being of all our customers.
About 2.4 GHz Wireless Devices
Because of the above facts we now only sell FCC approved and certified wireless transmitters. You can rest easy knowing all of our wireless hidden cameras, outdoor weatherproof transmitters, or just a basic transmitter and reciever are all 100% legal in the United States.
